NC State vs. Stanford

In the first game, NC State beat Stanford 10 - 4.  NC State took an early lead on a 2 run homer from Junior Left Fielder Jonny Butler in the first inning. The Wolfpack added 3 more runs in the 4th inning on a solo home run from Junior Right Fielder Devonte Brown and a 2 RBI single from Butler.  

The biggest threat from Stanford came in the bottom of the 7th inning when the Cardinal scored 3 runs, 2 of which came from a home run by Senior Outfielder Christian Robinson.  In the top of the 9th inning NC State put the game out of reach with 4 runs.  Jonny Butler got the scoring started again with an RBI single and came around to score on a double from Sophomore Catcher Luca Tresh.  The final 2 runs came via a single by Sophomore Third Baseman Vojtech Mensik.  

Junior RHP Reid Johnston got the win, giving up 4 runs in 6 innings pitched.  Junior LHP Evan Justice pitched a scoreless final 3 innings for the save.

Vanderbilt vs. Arizona

In the nightcap, Vanderbilt outlasted Arizona 7 - 6 in a twelve inning game.  Junior RHP Kumar Rocker got off to a rough start giving up 3 runs in the top of the first.  Following an error by Junior First Baseman Dominic Keegan, Rocker gave up back to back doubles to Freshman DH Jacob Berry and Sophomore First Baseman Branden Boissiere, scoring 2 runs.  The third run came from a single by Sophomore Second Baseman Kobe Kato.  

Vanderbilt scored 1 run in the bottom of the first inning and later tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on a 2 run homer from Senior Third Baseman Jayson Gonzalez.  Arizona regained the lead in the top of the 6th inning on a 2 run home run from Sophomore Right Fielder Ryan Holgate off of Kumar Rocker.  This ended Rocker's night as he finished with 5 runs allowed [3 earned] in 5.2 innings pitched.

Vanderbilt came right back to take the lead in the bottom of the 7th, scoring 3 runs.  Following an RBI single by Freshman Center Fielder Enrique Bradfield, Sophomore Shortstop Carter Young blasted a 2 run homer to put Vanderbilt up 6-5.  However, Arizona was able to tie the game in the top of the 9th on a sacrifice fly from Junior Center Fielder Donta Williams.  The game remain tied until the bottom of the 12th inning when a bases loaded single from Gonzalez scored the winning run.
